We're Married!!

We got back into Canada Monday morning and I thought I would share some pictures from our wedding in the Dominican. It was so beautiful, they did everything just like I wanted. The amount of flowers they used was incredible - the amount we paid for the whole wedding there would cost as much as just the flowers would have if the wedding was here! I was initially upset it was cloudy out but then quite relieved actually because otherwise I never would have lasted in my dress. I didn't include pictures of the wedding party or the family that came with us because I don't know if they would be comfortable with me sharing those pictures.

Anyway, this is my Daddy walking me down the aisle. Our first kiss at the ceremony. Laying on a gorgeous palm tree on the beach. Me sitting alone on the palm tree. Pointing at absolutely nothing, I just love this photo though. Smooching in a little hut. Posing in front of this gorgeous building which is actually a scuba lesson classroom. The photographer we had was so amazing. It's weird how some of the positions he put us in felt so akward and we were sure the photos would be terrible but they turned out gorgeous.

I will hopefully be able to start having time to craft in the next couple weeks to share some craft photos - but I'm not committing to anything! I'll definitely have some magnets that I made that I'll share because I made them before we left but never got around to photographing them. Plus, I never did end up making all of my thank you cards for the reception ahead of time so I'll be busy with those too!

Mother's Day Card for My Mom

Hopefully my Mom has receieved her Mother's Day card by now so I am going to finally share it. As much as I love the walk in the park papers for Mother's Day like I mentioned previously, the colours don't really say my Mom to me quite as much as pinks and browns so here is the card I made for her. I LOVE this sentiment for my Mom especially since I am a hair taller than she is and I usually round my height up to 5'1" when people ask (we're quite short I know)! I hope she enjoys her card and got to enjoy a bit of Mother's Day (since a fair chunk of it was spent on a plane going home from our wedding in the Dominican). My Mom (and Dad) have done so much to make our wedding everything I have always dreamed of and for that (and so many other things) I can't thank her enough. I only hope when I have kids I am half the Mom that she is.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! I'm going to finally share the card that we gave to Grant's Mother for Mother's Day. I'll share the one for my Mom in a couple days so I know that she has actually got it before I share it online. This card packs a lot of punch with the bright flower! It was created simply by stamping the flower in basic gray on cameo coral and using my SU paper snips to cut it out. Then I just glued it off center on the main panel for some added interest. I rounded all the edges on the card to balance the rougher edges of the flower - if that makes sense!

I LOVE these new corduroy buttons and brads. They are so gorgeous. The only think I don't like is they make cards cost more to mail because they make the card too thick - but they are great when you are going to hand-deliver a card!

Great Stamps for Less

This post is just a reminder that there are some great stamps/notecards in the back of the Stampin Up catalogue for $12 or less! If you can't afford a whole set with multiple images there is always this option or if you want to try stamping but don't want to spend a lot of $ on different stamps (especially if you are not sure if you'll like it). Here's a quick simple card I made using only 1 stamp from the back of the catalogue - it is called Beautiful Baby and is only $9.50. It is great for baby girls or boys, cards, shower invitations, scrapbooks and much more. Goes to show that you don't need to invest a lot to find a great versatile stamp!

Stamp: SU Beautiful Baby
Ink: Pretty in Pink
Paper: SU ww, pretty in pink, spring fling dp (retired)
